Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Acute Leukemia & Hematology Oncology – Ohio
Start Date: October 19, 2026

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; self-scheduling requests accepted with final assignments based on departmental needs reviewed every 4-week period. Weekend coverage variable based on unit needs. Orientation includes first week Monday-Friday dayshift, followed by 36 hours of on-unit preceptor-based training.
Highlights:
- Specialized 24-bed acute leukemia and hematology unit primarily serving newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
- Medical-surgical oncology focus with high volume of blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
- Goal staffing ratio of 1:4 patients (may flex to 1:5)
- Epic electronic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, and specialized services
- Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives
- May float to other medical-surgical oncology units as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years overall nursing experience required
- Current acute care medical-surgical oncology experience (must be active within the last 12 months)
- Documented inpatient hematology oncology experience required, including leukemia/blood dyscrasias experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of application)
- Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- BLS, ACLS, and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line management, PICC line care, and chemotherapy administration
- Epic charting system experience required
- 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
