Job Summary
Join a dedicated nursing team at a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Clarkston, Washington. This role offers a dynamic opportunity for a versatile Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care across both Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings, serving an adult patient population.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing diverse patient acuities, prioritizing patient safety, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This position requires an adaptable professional who is prepared to flex between departments as needed, contributing to a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Provide patient and significant other education utilizing appropriate modalities.
- Implement and monitor patient safety measures, including fall prevention, restraint protocols, and safe equipment operation.
- Adhere strictly to infection control and isolation procedures, utilizing standard precautions at all times.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and responses.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of physician orders and conduct 24-hour order checks as assigned.
- Facilitate effective communication through thorough change-of-shift reports and inter-departmental collaboration.
- Promptly report critical lab values to physicians according to established policy.
- Manage and restock emergency carts, patient rooms, and general unit supplies.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Washington.
- Demonstrated experience in Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing.
- Ability to flex between departments and adapt to varying patient care needs.

- Willingness and availability to work through the upcoming holiday season with minimal requests for time off.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in patient assessment, care planning, and intervention across MedSurg and PCU acuities.
- Strong knowledge of patient safety protocols, including restraint policies and safe equipment operation.
- Expertise in infection control practices and standard precautions.
- Excellent documentation skills, ensuring accuracy and completeness of patient records and orders.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective patient education, shift reports, and inter-departmental collaboration.
- Ability to troubleshoot and ensure safe operation of essential PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg equipment.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
