Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required. License: Valid state licenses required. Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Previous experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines. - Proficient in administering and titrating medications such as amiodarone, cardizem, nitro, insulin, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, isuprel, milrinone, and argatroban. - Must have completed a travel contract previously. - Must have a skills checklist completed within the last year. - One supervisory reference required. - Must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility. Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the traveler contributes professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients. The traveler may be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses. This unit has historically maintained a 1:7 patient ratio. The high volume of open travel needs is a direct response to improve this ratio. The more travelers who fill the vacancies, the lower the patient ratio will be. Weekend shifts will be required every other week. Prior experience is essential for managing a diverse range of patient needs in fast-paced environments.
