Description:
This position is located in a 225-bed specialty care hospital.
The hospital features a Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehabilitation, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine and Weight Management, Women's Health, and Pediatrics.
Additional services include premier imaging, surgery, and laboratory services.
The patient care unit has 36 beds with a patient ratio of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown population.
Telemetry monitoring is used in the unit.
The electronic health record system is Cerner.
The facility operates 12-hour shifts, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week.
Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.
Call requirements are only necessary if the census is low.
The patient population primarily consists of cardiac patients with trauma and stepdown levels of care.
Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre and post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular conditions, and congestive heart failure.
Teamwork is essential for this role.
The required education is an Associate degree in nursing.
The dress code includes scrubs in blue or navy, while blue jeans and unacceptable attire are not permitted.
