This unit specializes in progressive care with a focus on neuro conditions. Patients may present with neuromuscular disorders, meningitis, and other neurological issues. The unit serves as a primary stroke center and cares for patients with traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Surgical patients may include those undergoing tumor resections, spinal surgeries, and head and neck cancer procedures. Experience with normal pressure hydrocephalus trials involving lumbar drains is preferred. Candidates should be proficient in managing complex cases and utilizing specialized equipment and techniques. The role demands a thorough understanding of critical care practices and procedures related to the neurological patient population. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
