The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. Promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applies the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. Focuses on patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction. Applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care. Mentors and precepts staff. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs. Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor.
