Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Float Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required; first-time travelers accepted License: Current registered nurse license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH required Must-Have: Flexibility on scheduling and ability to float to different units Description: This is a float pool position. The candidate must be cleared for float units and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling. The patient population includes adults to geriatrics. The nurse will be required to float to all medical-surgical, medical-surgical telemetry, and progressive care unit specialties within the facility. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:4-5 for PCU and 1:5-6 for medical-surgical and medical-surgical telemetry units. Experience with Epic charting system is required. The role includes various nursing competencies relevant to advanced care settings. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support teams, such as IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services. The nurse will need to manage a variety of procedures and patient conditions including, but not limited to, cardiac telemetry and care of ventilated patients. Compliance with onboarding requirements and documentation is mandatory. Availability to work weekends and major holidays is expected. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in both standard and specialized nursing skills relevant to the float position. This role demands a strong foundation in clinical practice, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse clinical environments.
