Job Title: Med Surg/PCU/Tele RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med Surg/PCU/Tele RN - Neuro Trauma Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of Med Surg, PCU, or ICU experience License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator patients - Drip titration experience - Experience in a critical care setting within the last year Description: This position is for a Med Surg/PCU/Tele RN in a Neuro Trauma unit. The unit has a bed capacity of 28. The nurse-to-patient ratio on days is 1:4-5 and on nights is 1:5-6, depending on patient acuity. Common diagnoses include strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barré syndrome, Myasthenia gravis, spinal injuries, and trauma orthopedic injuries. Nurses will be expected to titrate various drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, 3% saline, and Insulin. The team will include nurse aides, with a ratio of 1:9 on days and 1:12 on nights. There is no call requirement, but floating to sister units may be necessary. Scrubs should be any solid color. The position involves self-scheduling, with management balancing the requested shifts. Weekend and holiday work is required. A willingness to learn about ventilators is encouraged, though previous experience is preferred.
