- Experience with post-cardiac surgical patients
Description:
This position requires an RN to work in a stepdown unit focusing on cardiac and tele patients.
The unit manages a diverse population with common diagnoses including post-cath lab patients, chest pain, and cardiac surgeries.
The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 during the day through 2300 and 1:5-6 on nights after 2300.
RNs are expected to titrate drips, including Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Bumex, and Dobutamine.
There is a central telemetry unit that monitors non-critical care patients 24/7.
Charge nurses take a modified assignment while supporting unit leadership.
The role requires collaboration with respiratory therapists to manage respiratory treatments and devices.
On weekends and holidays, the staff rotates responsibilities every other weekend as required.
Self-scheduling is not offered; block scheduling may be utilized depending on unit needs.
Floating may be required based on unit census.
RNs are expected to clock in and out as per facility policies.
