Description:
This position is for a registered nurse in a trauma step-down unit.
The primary responsibility is providing nursing care to multi-system-injured trauma patients and surgical patients.
The unit includes a six-bed intermediate care step-down area.
Ideal candidates will have a background in Progressive Care Unit, Intermediate Care, Trauma, or Step Down.
Travelers will not be required to see pediatric patients, but may assist with floor beds if discussed during the interview.
Ratios are: Floor RN 1:5, Step Down Unit 1:3.
Candidates must be open to floating within their scope to meet facility needs.
All personnel must comply with flu vaccine requirements, unless a documented medical exemption is provided.
Candidates must complete a fit test in advance.
References from two managers or charge nurses within the past two years are required.
Previous experience in orthopedics or trauma is preferred.
The facility provides an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care, including support services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
