Must-Have:
Float pool position requires candidates to be cleared on float units, ratios, and flexible scheduling.
Candidates must have experience in a variety of patient care settings.
Patient population includes adults to geriatrics.
Description:
This is a float pool position.
Candidates are required to float to all medical-surgical, telemetry, and progressive care units.
The patient ratio for PCU is 1:4-5, and for medical-surgical/telemetry units, it is 1:5-6.
The unit utilizes Epic for charting, along with Pyxis and SBAR.
Scrub color is navy blue.
Every other weekend coverage is expected, averaging 6 weekends in a 13-week contract.
If one major holiday falls within the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it.
If two major holidays fall during the assignment, both must be worked.
If three major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year’s Eve/Day.
Full compliance is required to start on time.
If not compliant in time, onboarding will be pushed back by 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate.
Travel experience is preferred.
Candidates must have skills in arterial line management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, and management of ventilated patients among others.
Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various specialized teams.
Candidates must ensure compliance with all requirements.
All requests for time off must be finalized prior to submission.
No requests for time off can be made during orientation week.
