If vent settings need adjustment, patients will be transferred to ICU. Central monitoring is provided; RNs are not expected to read their own telemetry strips. The unit uses Phillips telemetry monitoring equipment. Block scheduling is not guaranteed, but requests will be accommodated to the best extent. Weekend positions are available. RNs are expected to work approximately half of all recognized holidays. There are no call or standby requirements. First to float or be pulled to other floor/stepdown units will be the protocol.
