Staffing ratio is 1:3 for Stepdown and 1:5-6 for Floor. Nurses are required to titrate drips. Common diagnoses and types of patients include MedSurg Stepdown. RT equipment available includes vents, CPAP, and BiPAP. RT is in-house 24/7. Telemetry is available, and RNs must be proficient in reading and interpreting strips. Charge Nurse and Transport RN present from 7 AM to 7:30 PM. Nurse Aides typically range from 2-5 per shift. Weekend and holiday requirements are scheduled, frequency is unknown. Additional duties may include floating to other units as needed. Dress code requires royal blue scrubs. Charting system used is EPIC.
