The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 for stepdown and 1:4-6 for med-surg patients. Nurses will work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled. The unit handles a variety of common diagnoses and illnesses. Patients include those requiring med-surg care and overflow for hospice services. Nurses should be proficient in administering medications and managing patient care effectively. There is a charge nurse and house supervisor available on the unit. Nurses may be floated to other floors or stepdown units as needed. The dress code is royal blue scrubs. The electronic charting system used is EPIC.
