Comfort with emergency response protocols is essential. Previous charge experience preferred. Epic charting system experience required. Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in progressive care units. The average daily census in the unit is 29 patients. The nurse will be responsible for managing patients with various conditions, including migraines, seizures, chest pain, and multiple sclerosis. Special procedures include post-spinal surgery and post-stroke care. Patient-to-nurse ratio is expected to be 1:4 to 1:5. Every other weekend coverage is required, totaling four shifts during the contract. Candidates should have experience in accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, and more. The work environment supports interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates should possess knowledge of isolation precautions, IV insulin protocols, and management of dysrhythmias. Willingness to provide care for adult and geriatric patients is a must.
