Must-Have:
Must have PCU/Stepdown/Tele experience.
No first-time travelers.
Must have one successfully completed assignment.
Preferred experience with TAVR and CABG.
Travelers must have experience with common titratable and/or set rate drips such as amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, nitro, and insulin.
Description:
This unit focuses on cardiac care.
The facility has a total of 36 beds.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 during days and 1:5 during nights.
Travelers will be required to read tele strips independently, although a dedicated monitor tech is available.
The unit manages a variety of diagnoses including CHF, NSTEMI, MI, heart block, and various post-surgical recovery cases.
There is a charge nurse on each shift, who is generally free of assignment.
The unit employs patient care techs with a ratio of 8-12 patients per person.
Shifts are scheduled from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
Schedule requests from travelers will be taken into consideration to balance unit needs.
The weekend requirement is four weekend days per month.
There is a holiday requirement of three out of five holidays.
Floating to ICU or medical-surgical floors may occur within the patient population.
The designated scrub color for the unit is navy blue.
