The unit provides care for patients with solid tumors, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology. The role requires expertise in telemetry monitoring and other advanced nursing skills. Nurses must have experience with accessing ports, administering blood products, and managing central lines. You will be expected to interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) and manage tracheostomies. Pediatric patients are occasionally cared for on this unit, although experience with pediatrics is not required. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:4-5 for medical-surgical telemetry and 1:3 for PCU. The role demands strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team. All candidates must have high acuity experience and be proficient in managing infection prevention protocols. This is a dynamic role that offers opportunities for professional growth and supports flexible scheduling preferences. Travelers must complete the onboarding process, including fingerprinting, promptly upon acceptance. Reference requirements include two professional references, with at least one from a management position. Candidates must possess current specialty experience that aligns with the demands of the role.
