Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty required. License: WI RN or compact RN license required. Certifications: BLS & ACLS AHA required. Must-Have: Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required. Experience with vent and transplant patients is essential. Ability to pass a telemetry test prior to starting is required. Description: The traveler will work in both IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and IMC Thoracic unit. Day and evening shifts are available, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, including every other weekend and some holidays. Nurses on this unit provide care to acutely ill patients with various medical diagnoses and comorbidities. The 29-bed unit requires staff skilled in comprehensive and specialized nursing care. Patients may present with hemodynamic instability or specialized diagnoses such as cystic fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to surgical and trauma patients within a multidisciplinary team. Strong critical thinking and teamwork skills are necessary. The position is within an academic medical center and may require floating as needed. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in providing care in a Level 1 or 2 trauma center or similar facility. The role includes managing various advanced nursing responsibilities and special procedures. Completion of specific safety and care protocols will be necessary. Nurses will manage and monitor patients with complex needs, including those on telemetry. Candidates must be proficient in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac conditions. Strong patient advocacy and collaborative skills are essential in this role.
