Certifications: BLS, ACLS required.
Must-Have:
Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required.
Vent and transplant experience required.
Must have experience in an academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital.
Description:
The traveler will provide nursing care in both acute medical and progressive care settings.
Shifts are evening and night from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required.
Required skills include:
Accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients.
Central line care and management, chest tube management, and continuous bladder irrigation are also required.
Nurses will manage arterial blood gases, interpret dysrhythmias, and follow isolation precautions.
Experience with IV insulin protocols, management of dysrhythmias, and telemetry is necessary.
The unit cares for acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities and hemodynamic instability.
Specialty populations include patients with cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant care.
Nurses must work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
Telemedicine examination is required with strict passing criteria.
Travelers will be required to float as needed.
Candidates must be proficient in required skills and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
