This position involves working the evening/night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The role includes caring for patients with lung and esophageal diseases, lobectomies, decortications, esophagectomies, and other thoracic procedures. The nurse will assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion in the procedure room located within the unit. Candidates should bring strong teamwork skills and a commitment to compassionate care. It is essential to engage in acquiring new skills and integrating evidence-based nursing practices into the unit culture. ICU or IMC and surgical post-operative experience is required. Candidates must be willing to work with both IMC/general care patient populations. Telemetry testing will be required prior to beginning the assignment. Travelers may be required to float as needed. Candidates must achieve a passing score on the telemetry exam within specified attempts. This position is for an adult and geriatric patient population with a daily census of around 7 patients.
