# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Tennessee**Start Date:** October 19, 2026 **Location:** Hermitage, Tennessee **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement; self-scheduling available with 4-week schedule cycles**Highlights:** - Work in a 34-bed or 25-bed Progressive Care Unit with excellent nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on days and 1:5 to 1:6 on nights- Manage diverse case mix including BiPAPs, high flow oxygen, Vapotherm, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vac management- Participate in critical procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, and central line dressing changes- Utilize Meditech documentation system with strong tech support (2-3 patient care technicians per shift when fully staffed)- Experience a "care like family" culture with exceptional teamwork and high traveler extension rates- Black scrubs uniform with professional standards including hourly rounding on days and AIDET communication protocols**Requirements:** - Active Registered Nurse license- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required- Experience with BiPAPs, high flow oxygen systems, and multiple oxygen delivery methods- Stroke care and post-cardiac catheterization experience required- Experience with tube feedings, NG/Dobhoff tubes, and troubleshooting wound vacs- Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred- Ability to float between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors as needed**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This Progressive Care Unit offers an exceptional work environment where most travelers choose to extend their contracts after the first assignment.
