# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Tennessee**Start Date:** October 19, 2026 **Location:** Tennessee **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; every other weekend required; self-scheduling with 4-week schedule blocks**Highlights:**- Progressive Care Unit with 34-bed and 25-bed units featuring diverse patient populations including cardiac, stroke, and post-catheterization care- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on day shift and 1:5 to 1:6 on night shift with dedicated unit secretaries and multiple patient care technicians for support- Comprehensive equipment experience including BiPAPs, high-flow oxygen systems, Vapotherm, cardiac monitoring, multiple drip protocols (cardiac, insulin, heparin), and peritoneal dialysis- Meditech electronic medical record system with modern communication tools- Floating may occur between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors as needed- "Care like family" culture with strong teamwork and high rate of contract extensions among travelers**Requirements:**- Current state Registered Nurse license- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required- Critical thinking skills with demonstrated EKG rhythm interpretation ability- Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips required- Peripheral IV insertion skills required- Experience with BiPAPs, high-flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems- Stroke care and post-cardiac catheterization experience preferred- Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred- Experience with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes preferred**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**This Progressive Care Unit offers an excellent balance of acuity and autonomy, with self-scheduling flexibility and strong collaborative support from experienced technicians and fellow nurses.
