Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Mid Shifts Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Wisconsin or Compact license pending is accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Experience with patient ratios of 3-4 Description: This position is for an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). The unit primarily involves step-down care for patients. Nurses will work on a variable schedule. Shifts will mainly be during the day, but there may be a need to work mid or night shifts. Experience working in a community hospital is required. Trauma Level II experience is preferred. Travel experience is required for consideration. Candidates must have active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications during the application process. Nurses will manage a variety of clinical tasks including cardiac telemetry, IV protocols, and central line management. Knowledge in accessing and managing ports and peripheral line care is essential. Skills in interpreting dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases are crucial. Acute care experience is a key component of this role. Patient age groups will primarily include adults and geriatrics. Nurses may be required to float to other units as staffing needs arise.
