Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required in PCU within the last year First-timers accepted with 2 years of experience and EPIC proficiency License: Pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS BCLS EKG Test on arrival Must-Have: EPIC experience required Weekend requirement: Every other weekend Floating required to similar units as needed No call required Description: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PCU, particularly in cardiac care. Patient ratios are 1:5. Certifications required include ACLS and BCLS. An EKG test will be conducted upon arrival. Priority will be given to candidates with experience managing patients with cardiac conditions, including chest pain, syncope, heart failure, and more. Candidates will also manage patients recovering from procedures such as stent placements and cardioversions. Special procedures involved include managing and titrating drips for medications like Lasix, Heparin, and Cardizem. Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring is essential. The patient population will include adults and geriatrics with a variety of diagnoses. Interdisciplinary support services are available for enhanced patient care. Travelers within a specified radius may be subject to a reduced rate.
