Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Neuroscience / Stepdown – Tennessee
Start Date: September 28, 2026
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Weekend shifts required; experienced nurses may float to other units after orientation. Patient ratios of 6:1 on acute care and 4:1 on neuro stepdown.
Highlights:
- 30-bed combined unit: 22 acute care beds and 8 neuro stepdown beds
- Comprehensive stroke care and neuroscience patient population
- Neuro stepdown experience includes Vapotherm, BiPAP, trachs, and titrating cardiac drips
- Acute care side manages vital signs, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various drips
- Meditech EMR system for documentation
- Common procedures include lumbar puncture and chest tube placement
- Excellent unit for RNs preparing to transition to ICU-level care
Requirements:
- Active RN license in Tennessee (or multistate compact)
- BLS certification required for acute care positions
- BLS and ACLS certifications required for neuro stepdown positions
- Strong nursing skills and time management essential for acute care
- Stepdown experience preferred for neuro stepdown positions
- Advanced critical thinking skills required
