Must-Have:
- Strong cardiac background
- Ability to independently interpret cardiac rhythms
- Pass a Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt
- Experience with cardiac drips: Insulin, Milrinone, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, Nitroglycerin
- Chest tube experience
- Comfort with floating to similar cardiac/PCU units
Description:
This position focuses on high-acuity, heavily cardiac-centered step down units.
Travelers should possess a strong cardiac background and be comfortable with high patient acuity.
Expect frequent admissions and discharges, along with significant procedural volumes.
Typical nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:4 to 1:5.
Experience with common cardiac conditions such as heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and ventricular tachycardia is required.
Common procedures include heart catheterizations, stent placements, and management of devices like pacemakers and ICDs.
Candidates must be proficient in interpreting telemetry readings and passing a telemetry exam.
Rated competency of "4" on all cardiac skills assessments is required.
Floating to similar cardiac or progressive care units may be necessary.
Candidates should be well-versed in the procedures and patient population associated with high-acuity cardiac care.
