The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are primary responsibilities. The RN assists in maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education is essential. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care is a key responsibility. The RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. Focusing on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction is crucial. The RN leverages educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff are also integral components of the role. Responsibilities include performing assessments and reassessments as per policy. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiating, prioritizing, and implementing the plan of care is part of the job. Collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services is required. The RN utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of patients and families. Monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions is essential. The RN coordinates and provides education specific to patient and family needs. Facilitating teamwork and mentoring non-licensed personnel are important duties.
