Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required License: Active license required for the applicable state Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Experience with titration of vasopressors, sedation medication, insulin drips, trach vents, art lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes. Ability to float to lower acuity floors as needed. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Step Down Unit. The nurse will work day shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts. The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients transitioning from the intensive care unit. Ratios will be 1:4, ensuring quality patient care. Weekend coverage is required for two shifts every other weekend. The facility focuses on high acuity step-down patient care. Daily patient census is approximately 25. Interdisciplinary support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The nurse will be involved in complex patient procedures and care management. Experience in managing patients with critical health conditions is essential. Familiarity with the EPIC charting system is preferred. Must have strong skills in telemetry and cardiac management. Travel experience is required. Professionalism and adherence to quality care standards are mandatory.
