Description:
This position is for a step-down unit.
The unit consists of a dual structure, PCU and step-down.
On the PCU, the nurse to patient ratio is 2-3.
On the floor side, the ratio is typically 4 but can rise to 5 at times.
Nurses may be required to float between both sides of the unit.
The patient population includes those undergoing lung transplant, lung surgeries, and related procedures.
Special procedures may include lobectomy, mass removal, wedge resection, esophagectomy, and hiatal hernia repair.
Additional support services available include Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Rapid Response Teams.
Nurses will work closely with varied patient populations, including adults and geriatrics.
Experienced charge nurses are encouraged to apply.
This opportunity requires skills in cardiac telemetry and chest tube management.
All nurses must possess competency in the interpretation of dysrhythmias and cardiac drip management.
