Common procedures include colectomy, bowel resection, ostomy, and hernia repair. The unit also provides care for urological procedures, orthopedic surgeries, and specialty wound care, including managing surgical drains. The staffing ratio is 1:6. Visible tattoos are permitted as long as they are not offensive or inappropriate for a professional setting. Facial and ear piercings are acceptable if they do not interfere with job duties and maintain a professional appearance. Vaccination requirements include immunity status for Hep B, MMR, and Varicella through titers or proof of vaccination completion. Documentation of TDaP and influenza vaccination or exemption request during flu season is also required.
