Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience required License: Current Nursing License Certifications: BLS NIHSS Preferred: ACLS Must-Have: Experience with cardiac telemetry and management of dysrhythmias Ability to perform pre and post cardiac catheterization care Experience with wound care, sepsis management, and renal failure Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:5. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. Holiday shifts and charge nurse assignments may be required. There is a weekend requirement of 8 shifts within a 6-week schedule period. The clinician will float as needed across multiple departments. Key responsibilities include cardiac monitoring and emergency response. The nurse will interpret and manage dysrhythmias. Experience with telemetry and cardiac telemetry is essential. Skills in accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and central line care are required. Feeding tube care and management experience is also necessary. The work environment involves handling various patient diagnoses including ETOH, AFIB, GIB, and stroke. The nurse must have familiarity with varied patient age groups including adults and geriatrics. This role may require interaction with interdisciplinary teams for patient management. Special equipment and technologies will be utilized in patient care. Additional duties may include adhering to patient safety protocols and engaging in ongoing education. Compliance with required training and protocols is expected.
