Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 to 2 years required License: Missouri or Compact License required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Work settings experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, and Cardiac Telemetry - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias - Experience with telemetry monitoring - Knowledge of cardiovascular procedures including pre/post cardiac catheterization - Skills in sepsis management, wound care, and renal failure Description: The role involves providing patient care in a Progressive Care Unit. Ratios are 1:5. Candidates must have 1 to 2 years of experience, and first-timers are accepted. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required based on unit needs. A minimum of 8 weekend shifts is required within a 6-week schedule period, comprising a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This position will float among various units as needed. Floating to approximately five units that involve Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU Departments is expected. A wide range of patient issues is encountered, including but not limited to: sepsis, stroke, renal failure, atrial fibrillation, gastrointestinal bleeding, and COVID-19. Specialized skills are required in administering IV therapy and blood products. Preferred skills include sheath removal and feeding tube management. The candidate must be willing to comply with any on-call requirements. Floating between departments and facilities may be required.
