Description:
This position involves caring for patients in an Intermediate Care Unit focusing on cardiology.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1, ensuring adequate time for each patient.
Common types of patients include those undergoing cardiothoracic surgery, catheterization procedures, and managing heart failure exacerbations.
The role requires skills in telemetry and management of various cardiac conditions, including dysrhythmias and pacemaker care.
Nurses will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary support from various specialties, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
Candidates must have experience in stepdown environments, with the capability to manage complex patient needs.
All candidates must be willing to embrace the dynamic nature of patient care in a cardiology-focused unit.
Floating between different areas may be required based on patient census and acuity needs.
