Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Stepdown unit.
The unit provides care for adult patients with common diagnoses including cardiac, dialysis, cancer, and respiratory issues.
The average daily census is 24 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5.
Nurses are expected to manage various IV drips and equipment such as high flow systems.
Charge nurses are present on each shift and may have an assignment.
Patient care techs assist with a ratio of 1:12.
Nurses must be flexible and willing to learn and adapt.
Effective communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.
The unit serves diverse populations, and cultural competency is important.
A successful candidate will focus on patient experience, responsiveness, and medication communication.
Additional notes include the requirement for weekend and holiday shifts, as well as potential floating to other units.
