Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 1 Year Required License: Active License Required Certifications: - ACLS - BLS Must-Have: - Telemetry experience - Cardiac medications and infusion experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. The shift is night shift from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. There is no on-call requirement. Weekend requirements involve working every other weekend. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. Candidates must have at least one year of experience. New travelers are not accepted for this position. The required certifications include ACLS and BLS. Floating within the scope to meet facility needs may be necessary. Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles away. Pending licenses are accepted, but candidates must have an active license by the start date. Special requirements include experience with telemetry and cardiac medications. This unit cares for high-acuity patients, including post-cardiothoracic surgery patients and those with heart failure and atrial fibrillation. Nurses must be able to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage level 2 medication infusions. Additional responsibilities may include managing biPAP/CPAP, blood products, and various cardiac protocols. Candidates should have experience in managing dysrhythmias and administering procedural sedation. The unit provides interdisciplinary support and requires strong communication skills. All nurses in this role are expected to display professionalism and adaptability in a challenging environment.
