Primary focus on medical oncology patients with a small number of medical-surgical patients. The unit is a 36-bed telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to PCU level of care. The patient ratio is 1:4-5 for medical-surgical telemetry and 1:3 for PCU. Previous experience in a similar setting is preferred, though not required. Candidates should be adept in the interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of cardiac drips without titration. Experience with IV therapies, chemotherapy administration, and critical care protocols is essential. Ability to manage Bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and PCA pumps is required. Pediatric patients are occasionally cared for on this unit, but pediatric experience is not mandatory.
