```htmlJob Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – New York

Start Date: September 29, 2026

Location: Rochester, New York

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 13-week contract. Every other weekend and every other holiday required. Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5.

Highlights:

  • Progressive Care Unit serving adults and geriatric patients with pulmonary conditions, ENT surgical cases, and general stepdown-level care
  • EPIC charting system utilized throughout the facility
  • Work at a 528-bed Magnet-recognized acute care teaching facility with Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center certification
  • Floating required within skillset; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
  • Unit census of approximately 22 patients across 24 beds with 16 hours of orientation provided
  • Flexible call-off policy allowing up to three shifts during the contract period without penalty

Requirements:

  • Active New York Single State RN license required (New York is not a Compact state; pending licenses not accepted)
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required; travel nursing experience strongly preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Experience with telemetry and stepdown-level care (PCU/DOU/IMC) essential
  • Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, IV therapy, and isolation precautions
  • Experience managing cardiac drips (non-titration), oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility location
  • Maximum 10 days of requested time off during contract period
