2 years of Med/Surg experience with some PCU experience
License:
Current Registered Nurse license
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have:
Experience with trached patients on ventilators
Ability to administer 100% FiO2 via suction support and silence alarms
Trach care and trach suctioning
Experience with stroke patients and conducting Q2H neuro checks
Comfortable caring for post-stable craniotomy patients
Description:
This role requires experience with long-term tracheostomies, ventilators, COVID-19 patients, trauma, sepsis, and stroke care.
You will care for cardiac and medical patients, post-operative general surgery or trauma, and patients following cardiac catheterizations, ablations, TAVR, STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, AFIB with RVR, sepsis, COPD, and respiratory failure requiring Bipap or high-flow oxygen.
Patient ratios will be RN: 1:3-4 and Tech: 1:6.
The nurse will manage chest tubes, wound vacs, Bipap, non-titrating vasoactive or antiarrhythmic drips, and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
Temporary pacemaker experience and post-femoral sheath care are beneficial.
The nurse will also handle insulin drips, general drain, ostomy care, and IV starts.
Resource nursing support will be available 24/7.
You may float to Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or Critical Care Unit as needed.
Weekend rotation every other weekend may be required.
Time off requests are acceptable up to 7 days and holiday requests must align with unit needs.
Scrub color must be professional.
