Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years acute care experience required License: Compact RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Must be comfortable with a fast-paced surgical overflow unit - Strong experience with surgical patient populations Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a surgical progressive care unit. The nurse will work rotating shifts, including day and night shifts. This is a fast-paced unit caring for intermediate care status patients. The nurse should have ACLS certification and experience with telemetry monitoring. Floating to related units is required based on facility needs. The patient ratio is typically 1:5. Weekend shifts are part of the schedule, with a requirement of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period. The ideal candidate will possess skills in various areas such as BiPAP/CPAP management, cardiac telemetry, and care for post-surgical patients. Experience with trauma, neurosurgery, and other surgical specialties is preferred. Traveler flexibility is necessary as staffing needs may change. Candidates with previous charge experience will be considered. The ability to manage diverse patient populations, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics is essential. The daily census on the unit is approximately 22 patients. All required certifications and licenses must be up-to-date before starting the position.
