Must-Have Skills/Experience:
1 year of Step Down experience in an inpatient setting.
This unit has a heavy focus on respiratory care.
Experience with Tracheostomy and Ventilator patients is required.
Description:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care.
Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.
Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the organization’s mission and values.
Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort.
Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice.
Meets unit-specific physical demands.
Significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning of patients with assistance may be required.
May be required to work differing schedules or shifts according to patient care requirements.
High risk exposure to blood and body fluids.
Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs.
Kneeling, crouching, and minimal crawling may also be required.
Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care.
Evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers.
Coordinates patient care with other departments.
Performs responsibilities in line with established standards and guidelines.
