Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 to 2 Years Required License: Valid Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS NIHSS Must-Have: ACLS Preferred Description: The Registered Nurse will perform patient care in a Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will have a patient ratio of 1:5. Previous experience in a PCU environment is required. First-time travelers are accepted. Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be required. The nurse must be able to float between multiple units as required. Nursing duties will include cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Experience with interpreting and managing dysrhythmias is necessary. The nurse should be proficient in pre and post-op cardiac catheterization care. Experience with sepsis, wound care, alcohol withdrawal, and other conditions is required. Skills in IV therapy and phlebotomy are preferred. The nurse will need to comply with weekend shift requirements. The candidate must be adaptable to meet facility needs as a float nurse. Compliance with training and module completion before starting is mandatory. Due to the nature of floating assignments, flexibility is essential. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient care. Candidates must have strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
