Job Title: PCU RN - Cardiac Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years Required License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Cardiac Experience Required. Teaching Client Experience Required. Description: The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the PCU. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:5, with rare occasions flexing to 1:6. The role includes responsibilities in cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Active interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is required. The nurse will assist in the recovery phase for patients post-cardiac procedures. Involvement in the management of IV therapies, including insulin protocols, is necessary. Experience with telemetry and cardiac telemetry settings is essential. The focus is on providing care to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Regular floating between departments and units may be required based on facility needs. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Weekend shifts are required, with a total of 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling period. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be assigned as needed. The nurse will be part of a collaborative team, working alongside various interdisciplinary support services. Qualified candidates must comply with health and safety protocols, including wound care and isolation precautions. The role also includes administration of medications, including cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration. Previous charge experience is preferred, and familiarity with charting systems is required.
