Step Down experience and skillsets are required. The position involves 3x12 hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30. The facility operates as a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center. Daily patient ratios during the day are typically 5 patients per nurse. The unit accommodates both orthopedic and neuro patients. Patient diagnoses include joint replacements, fractures, post-operative neurosurgery, strokes, and medical-surgical conditions. Key skills required include accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, and telemetry monitoring. Ability to maintain IVs and manage surgical drains is essential. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Candidates should be familiar with the EPIC charting system. Travel experience is preferred. Local candidates will be considered at a reduced rate. A medical or religious exemption is required for the flu vaccine.
