Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 24 months minimum of Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience required. Experience with rhythm disturbances, heart failure, myocardial infarction, cardiac catheterization lab recovery, and medical-surgical overflow patients required. Cardiac rhythm experience required. License: Active Iowa license/multistate/multi-state at the time of submission required. Certifications: BLS (AHA) required. ACLS (AHA) required. Must-Have: Experience with implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) and pacemaker patients required. Completion of at least 12 months of Medical/Surgical or Telemetry/Cardiac experience for first-time travelers accepted. EPIC electronic medical record experience required. Cardiac drip/titration experience required. Level II trauma experience required. Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a Progressive Care Unit focusing on patients with rhythm disturbances, heart failure, and myocardial infarctions. The nurse will monitor patients recovering from cardiac procedures and manage overflow from medical-surgical units. Patient ratios will vary from 1:3-5 during the day shift to 1:5-6 at night. The unit has 24 beds and utilizes telemetry for patient monitoring. The nurse may be required to float to other units as necessary. Scrubs are navy blue and must be solid in color. The position requires working 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed. All applicants must provide a work history detailed with relevant experience. References from supervisors or nurse managers within the past 24 months are preferred.
