Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required, first-time travelers welcome License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Epic experience, Telemetry experience, and ability to float within the organization Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit on night shifts. The schedule is 3 shifts per week, totaling 36 hours. Candidates with only one year of experience will not receive automatic offers. Profiles will need to be reviewed by the hiring manager. Weekend shifts are required. Floating to different units within the organization is mandatory as needed. Candidates must have certifications in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. Experience with the Epic charting system is essential. Telemetry experience is also required. Skills needed include management of BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, and central line care. Nurses must be proficient in high flow nasal cannula usage, interpreting arterial blood gases, and managing cardiac drips. Familiarity with substance withdrawal protocols, tracheostomy care, and wound care practices is important. Candidates should be prepared for a diverse patient population including adults and geriatrics. This unit serves acute care patients with orthopedic trauma and other conditions. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Compliance with a strict credentialing process is necessary. References from previous managers or directors are required, and current employees are not eligible for traveler positions. Education must be from an accredited nursing program.
