Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Valid Compact or State License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience with cardiac care and IV insulin management preferred. Experience with telemetry monitoring required. Epic charting system experience required. Description: Looking for a registered nurse to work in a progressive care unit. The schedule includes weekdays and some weekends, with every other weekend required. Candidates may need to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. The unit has 24 beds, with 9 designated for cardiac stepdown patients. Staffing is three nurses per shift, on a 3x12-hour night schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The estimated patient ratio is 1:3-5. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. Common patient diagnoses include chest pain, heart failure, EKG changes, and pulmonary embolism. The registered nurse will utilize special equipment, including bedside monitors in progressive care rooms. Skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and peripheral line care/management.
