The nurse will be responsible for starting and managing IVs. Administering medications safely is a key duty. Monitoring vitals and patient responses is essential. Float to lower acuity units may be required as needed. Adherence to hospital policies and maintenance of patient safety is crucial. Interdisciplinary support consists of various specialized services. Special procedures include managing chest tubes, inserting Foley catheters, and administering IV antibiotics. The unit is equipped for mixed medical-surgical procedures.
