Description:
Offering up to 26 weeks.
Preference will be given to candidates willing to consider 36 or 48-hour shifts.
Experience in Oncology nursing is a plus.
This unit cares for step-down and medical-surgical patients.
There is no call requirement.
Scheduling will include every other weekend.
Nursing staff may float to other medical-surgical areas as needed.
The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5.
Block scheduling cannot be accommodated.
Availability for the first two weeks of assignment is required.
Requests for time off after the offer will need to be discussed with management.
Commonly utilized equipment includes Vital Sign Towers and IV pumps.
Documentation is done using an electronic health record system.
Daily patient census averages 29, with all patient age groups cared for, including adults and geriatrics.
Interdisciplinary support is provided by various services including Physical Therapy and Pharmacy.
Patient diagnoses commonly include sepsis, respiratory failure, cancer, and heart failure.
Special procedures performed in this unit include chemotherapy administration and patient monitoring.
Nurses in this unit may work with special equipment such as BiPAP/CPAP.
