Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of critical experience required License: Active state nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Critical care experience is preferred - Ability to float to other units as needed Description: Registered Nurse in a progressive care unit. The role involves caring for a mixed patient population including cardiac and respiratory patients. Minimum of 2 years of critical experience is required. First-time travelers may apply if they have approximately 2 years of PCU or ICU experience. Floating to sister units is required to meet facility needs. Patient care includes managing patients with mildly unstable hemodynamics. All rooms are equipped with negative pressure capabilities and ceiling lifts. The nurse will be responsible for various care aspects including but not limited to BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, and telemetry monitoring. Experience with medication administration and familiarity with computerized documentation is essential. Orientation and training will be provided as part of the role. Weekend shifts will be scheduled based on unit needs. Compliance with all safety and health protocols is mandatory. This position will require participation in the interdisciplinary team approach to patient care.
