Description:
Position requires a Registered Nurse for the IMC/Stepdown/PCU specialty.
The shift is 3x12 days with working hours from 06:45 to 19:15.
The nurse will be responsible for a patient ratio of 1:4.
The unit takes patients of all diagnoses and is a fast-paced environment with a high volume of patient throughput.
Special procedures and unit details include ability to manage patients with tracheostomies and ventilators.
Candidates should possess skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of telemetry.
Experience in post cardiac angiogram, pre/post cardiac cath, and post MI is essential.
Nurses must have experience in IV therapy, including central line care, phlebotomy, and providing peripheral line management.
Knowledge of medication protocols, including heparin, cardiac and vasoactive drips, is required.
Candidates must also exhibit proficiency in handling respiratory care for ventilated patients and managing chest tubes.
Experience in neurological, orthopedic, and respiratory cases is necessary.
Professional knowledge of isolation precautions and wound care is required.
Familiarity with Cerner charting system is preferred.
This position requires the nurse to float as needed and may involve weekend shifts.
Weekend coverage is required as nurses will work every other weekend.
RTO restrictions ideally limit to no more than 5 days.
